The level of detail will be increased by merging existing data and adding new images. In this way, a realistic and georeferenced digital image of the World Heritage Site and later of the entire city will be created.<br \/>\nThe technical basis is provided by the freely available master portal, which is used as part of the data platform. It enables simple operation and interactive display of information.   <\/p>\n<\/p>\n               <\/div>\n            <\/div>\n         <\/div>\n         <div class=\"col-12 col-lg-6 offset-lg-1 d-flex flex-column justify-content-center\">\n            <h2 class=\"h5\">Project description<\/h2>\n            <p>A 3D model not only records the current state of Bamberg&#8217;s buildings, but also provides historical data. This digital twin of the city of Bamberg thus fulfills two purposes: \r\nFirstly, highly detailed models of the monuments provide an essential basis for their preservation. In addition, such a 3D model enables a comprehensive visualization of planned construction measures and their effects on the surroundings even before they are carried out. On the other hand, a digital twin supplemented with historical data opens up opportunities for digital cultural and historical communication. Through the use of storytelling, the stories behind buildings, changes or historical events can be explained and visualized.
