Our vision for Bamberg

When disasters such as fires or floods occur, the emergency services arrive at the scene of the accident as quickly as possible. People and buildings are rescued with as little delay as possible. Life in Bamberg and the city itself are safeguarded.

The situation map and dashboard access data from the Bayernportal and the city of Bamberg. It is part of a separate mobile application is planned that is to be used throughout Bavaria in disaster control.

Project description

The project is subject to change and a decision has yet to be made as to whether and how it can be implemented. The original idea was: The city data for disaster control (including the fire department, technical relief organization, local emergency management support group) is provided, processed and made available centrally. This involves a digital situation map and a dashboard, i.e. an overview of the information relevant to disaster control. This enables the emergency services to act faster and more efficiently thanks to the precise real-time data. It is also possible to visualize forecasts of scenarios and their impact on the city and derive countermeasures.

Example scenarios could be:

In the event of a major fire, the emergency services immediately see which fire engine can be there the quickest and alert it specifically.
The effects of flood disasters in the densely built-up World Heritage area are visualized and necessary construction measures are implemented.
